How is our substrate so different from the rest?

      This is a Live, Instant BioActive Substrate that will not only dramatically reduce establishment time, but will also significantly increase plant survival and growth while increasing the survival rate of your clean up crew insects. Our substrate was formulated by an Environmental Scientist to be the most advanced tropical substrate on the market and to solve a variety of issues found in other substrates. Our substrate is 100% organic and free of heavy metals, chemicals, and potentially radioactive and impaction causing volcanic materials such as perlite.

Optimal moisture control

      HF Premium Tropical Substrate has excellent drainage, but retains more moisture than traditional ABG, preventing it from becoming too dry to support microfauna and plants, while also preventing your substrate from becoming water logged, which could form a breeding ground for harmful bacteria or smother plant roots. This balance in drainage and water retention also regulates humidity within your vivarium, acting as a buffer to over or under watering.

Mycorrhizae are beneficial soil fungi that form a symbiotic relationship with plant roots of around 95% of the world's plant species.
